Live Review - Terrorizer Magazine 2013

"Old Corpse Road have been toiling away for a long while now, playing gig after gig of their blackened folk metal across the country. Their work ethic shows tonight with an exceptionally polished performance that has the venue going all out in appreciation."

Insidious Art and Serpentine Rites

"Old Corpse Road are in a sense doing a job in black metal what Tolkien did with literature. Trying to preserve and carry on a “mythology” that England has long since lost and forgotten. These guy’s should be national treasures! Who say’s metal can’t be educational and informing?! There is no such other intellectual and sophisticated genre of music and Old Corpse Road know their stuff and they have so many layers and dimensions that you always end up finding more."

Jorvik Viking Fest - Feb 2014

"a highly atmospheric set and it really was fantastic to see just how into the music they were – when a band really makes an effort with their performance, it really pays off and it was incredible to see near-enough the whole crowd head-banging in tandem with one another"

The Bones of This Land are not Speechless

"Encompassing elements of folk, black metal, doom and progressive music, Old Corpse Road are arguably without peer in the UK at this moment in time and with careful nurturing and the support of their fans have the potential for a long and fascinating career ahead of them"

'Tis Witching Hour... As Spectres we Haunt this Kingdom

"Perhaps the unifying factor is something shadowy and unique to the English soul... 'Tis Witching Hour... is wonderfully evocative, eerie and - above all - uniquely English"

Metal Hammer 9/10

Of Campfires and Evening Mists Limited Edition Pre-Order

We are very proud to unveil a very special version of our upcoming album "Of Campfires And Evening Mists".

This version comes housed in an exclusive hand crafted wooden box, each masterfully crafted by The Revenant, emblazoned with our Sigil of Herne upon the lid.

Inside the box you will find

  • A CD copy of the album
  • A Sigil of Herne patch
  • A hessian bag containing a stone hand plucked from the river Tees by The Watcher, who braved the waters in defiance of the cursed river hag Peg Powler.
  • A sealed scroll is also housed within the box

And as a final hail and farewell thee well to our former member, the Seer, we are including his staff, as seen on the album artwork. The Wanderer, using pyrography, etched the final words from our album upon it and tore it asunder, leavng one part of the staff for each box. Photographs will follow soon...

This version costs £17.00 and is limited to 100 copies and is only available direct from the band.

Pre-orders for the regular version are currently being made available in the shops and will be available direct from Cacophonous
