Let us take you back to a time when black metal was a mere murmur in the extreme metal underground. Aside from small fanzines across the world, one of the most effective methods for people to hear these underground bands was through the tape trading scene.
Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s black metal held a certain magic and mystery, due simply to the fact that it was completely unheard of by the mainstream media. It is in remembrance of the tape trading scene that Old Corpse Road have teamed up with UK underground label, Darkness Shade Records, to release a special edition tape format version of our demo “The Echoes of Tales Once Told”, in honour of a these special times which sparked off a scene which we have come to love.
The tape will be limited to 100 copies and feature not just the three original demo tracks but also two additional tracks from the same recording session as the demo which have not been officially released by the band and will probably never be released again. These tracks are “Hell’s Kettles” which some of you will know as our live opening track and also “The Song of Amergin”. The release will also come complete with different artwork to the original CD. This is your chance to obtain an Old Corpse Road rarity!
Full track listing as follows:
